The fountain in the middle of the square is the work of an academic painter and scenographer Dorijan Sokolić, and it was made to honour the 700th anniversary of Vinodol Codex. The fountain holds names, both in Latin and Glagolitic characters, of the cities (Grobnik, Trsat, Bakar, Hreljin, Grižane, Drivenik, Bribir, Novi, Ledenice) whose representatives met on 06.01.1288. to list and record old judicial practices thus creating this valuable legal document.
